Airbus A340-500 Passenger Jet Plane

The Airbus A340-500 is a long-range, four-engine, wide-body commercial passenger jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus. It's an ultra-long-range variant of the A340 family, capable of flying up to 9,000 nautical miles. The aircraft features a stretched fuselage and wing compared to its predecessors, measuring 3.2 meters and 3.15 meters longer respectively. With a maximum capacity of 375 passengers, the A340-500 was designed to meet the demands of ultra-long-haul routes, allowing airlines to connect distant cities without stopovers. It played a significant role in aviation history, operating some of the world's longest non-stop routes, including Singapore to Newark. Despite its impressive capabilities, the A340-500 represents a transitional period in long-haul air travel, as more fuel-efficient twin-engine aircraft have since become preferred for such routes.
